Ich hatte meine Schlafprobleme gerade halbwegs in den Griff bekommen, da zwingt mich jetzt dieser verfluchte Reizhusten wieder zum Wachbleiben.
Ich bin schon total bekloppt im Kopf vom Schlafmangel der letzten Tage. Alle Hausmittel und rezeptfreie Medikamente sind wirkungslos. Morgen lasse ich mir neue Codeintropfen verschreiben, aber bis dahin muss ich noch eine Nacht hinter mich bringen, in der mich dieser verfluchte Husten quält.

Auch keine Zwiebeln mit Honig?
Ich hatte auch mal ekligen Reizhusten, von dem ich mich übergeben musste. Da hatte ich so ein Halsspray, das hat zumindest tagsüber richtig gut geholfen.

Sadly not for THIS type of dry chough. I already ate/drank a lot of onions, garlic and honey. It helped to dissolve the mucus, but it didn't help against the cough.
I also tried Dextromethorphan, but it didn't help me enough so I can get sleep.
But I have my Codein now.
I usually try these home remedies first, but trying for too long with too weak remedies can be more dangerous than the possible side effects of a stronger medication.
Hard coughing isn't just annoying, it can cause serious lung damage.
With codein it usually it takes me only one or two nights to break the cycle of coughing -> irritating the lungs -> more coughing.

I heard just like with little medication, little coughing for too long is more dangerous.
So possibly it should be solved hard and fast. You tried something regular? Aspirine?
