Christmas is coming - Hooray...or whatever.
However, pre-Christmas period can be very stressful. Besides biscuit baking, buying gifts and choosing the right fir (or plastic) tree, every day business like school, study or job needs to be done, too. The chaos becomes perfect, if the relatives invite themselves. But you don't have to worry. At least for the culinary supply we have an idea for a no-time-consuming but nonetheless tasty recipe.
What you need:
-1-4 puff pastry sheets (you can buy them in nearly every supermarket)
-Fish, sausages, fruits, vegetables, jam, chocolate cream...for filling
-An oven or a microwave with grill function
-(knife, cutlery, plates)
preparation time: 10 - 40 minutes (depends on the amount of pockets you want to make)
tip: one sheet of puff pastry makes 27 normal sized pastries.
1. Unroll the puff pastry. In most cases you will not need a rolling pin.
2. Cut the pastry into somewhat equally sized rectangular parts with a kitchen knife.
How to make them:
3. Now the filling: Simple put fish, sausages, fruits, vegetables, jam, chocolate cream or whatever you like on top of the pasty.
4. Separate the pastry parts and squeeze together the ends with your thumb and index finger.
5. Put the pastry pockets onto a heat-proof plate. They can to touch but should not lie on top of each other.
Tip: Put the sweet pastries (for example with fruits or chocolate cream) onto a separate plate and not onto the same as with the fish or vegetables. So you will not bite into a jam filled pocket, if you expect a juicy mackerel.
6. Put them into the oven and bake them at 180 degrees centigrade for about 10 to 15 minutes with top-/ bottom heat. In the end use air circulation for two to three minutes. They are done when they are fluffy and slightly brown.
That's it. Enjoy your meal!
